Brief History of the Bank: The Urban Co-Operative Bank Ltd. Anantnag was registered in the year 1986-87 vide registration No. B&F / RCS/ S - 2 dated 15-11-1986. The Reserve Bank of India also issued license for commencing Banking business as per license no. UBD JK 850 P dated 19-02-1987. The bank started banking business w. e. f 19-03-1987. The area of the operation of the bank is confined to Anantnag district of the south Kashmir with it head quarter at Anantnag.
Organization structure: "The Bank has two branches at Anantnag & Khanabal with Head office at Anantnag". The number of employees is 16 as per details.

Management: The management of the bank is vested with the board of the directors consisting of seven members. The individual shareholders of the bank elect the Board of Directors for managing the affairs of the bank.
RBI classification: The bank is classified as grade "A1" bank as per RBI norms by RBI.
Adult classification: The audit of the bank is conducted upto 31-03-2004 and audit classification of the bank is 'A' As per audit classification and audit for the year 2004-2005 is under process and as per norms of RBI our bank audit classification will be 'A'.
Computerization: The bank will be computerized in near future.
Vision 2005 - 2010: The bank has a great potential for expanding its business operations on large scale. The bank has all chances for creating and advancing various types of activities. We are going to make credit system very strong in both Urban and rural areas. We will lay stress on enhancing the professionalization in our institution along with technological upgradation to face the challenges of new market oriented scenario. We will perform and compete to reach vision & mission by implementing realistic programs & planning. Good governance, Modern Information technology, Enlightened Membership and there involvement, Committed work force and Social trust will be created to great extent in the future to reap the benefits of Co-operative movement in banking sector. |
